Sophie Wedgwood is a photographer working across long-form documentary and portraiture.
She began her career at BBC News as a reportage photographer and writer, travelling across the UK on assignment to create documentary stories. She later worked as a photographer for Reuters, while producing cover stories for major newspapers and publications including The Guardian. This early grounding in observational photography continues to shape her practice.
Her work has been recognised by Magnum Photos, where she received the Emerging Photographer Award, selected by photographer Lua Ribeira.
She was subsequently selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass and recognised by the National Portrait Gallery through the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.
