Sophie Wedgwood (Sophie Wedgwood - Suárez) is a photographer and director from Camberwell, London (b.1991).
Sophie first began work as a photojournalist for The BBC News. Commissioned by Phil Coomes she travelled the length of The UK. She won her first awards for a series about young women called Growing Up Young. She then went on to work for The Guardian and other papers. She now works on long term projects. Sophie's work has been selected for World Press (Joop Swart Masterclass), Webby (Best Photography) and Magnum Awards (Graduate Award and Emerging Photographer).
This year she won the Magnum Photography Award for Emerging Photographer selected by Lua Ribeira. She is working on two photography books and lectures at UAL.
